School Nurse (RN, LPN, EMT); Part-Time

The JCC of Central NJ is a non-profit agency whose mission is to educate, enrich and empower our community – from generation to generation. The JCC is a membership-based agency offering educational, recreational, fitness & wellness, cultural and communal programs and activities to people of all abilities and all stages of life.

Summary of Position

The JCC is looking for a certified health care professional to serve as the Preschool Nurse on a part-time basis. The School Nurse will be responsible for assessing and treating students for medical issues. The hours are Monday-Friday 3:00pm - 6:15pm on school days. The Children Services Health Coordinator will supervise this Overtime Non-exempt position.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and treat students for medical issues
• Help prevent physical issues and disease
• Communicate effectively with staff, parents and students
• Provide emergency aid to students and staff

Required Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of NJ State Licensing standards preferred
• Knowledge of community agencies which provide help to students and their families

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)certification required
• Current state license required
• School nurse / pediatric experience preferred
• CPR / first aid certified

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Prolonged periods of standing, reaching, and bending
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times

Pay range: $28 - $32 per hour based on experience and credentials.
