QUALIFICATIONS
The position shall require a Substitute Teacher’s Certificate or a Teacher’s certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Education.
APPOINTMENT
Substitute Teacher shall be appointed by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the superintendent.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS
- To provide instruction, manage the classroom environment and promote student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains a discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff
- Ensures adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
- Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Reports to office upon arrival at school; requests clarification of school rules and procedures, if necessary.
- Reports all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority.
- Implement lesson plans.
- Dismiss all students from classroom before leaving the building.
- Complies with and supports school policies and regulations
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the building administrator(s) in accordance with school policies and practices.
