Bus Aide Position (Morning/Afternoon)

Robert Morris School-South Bound Brook BOE

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent 
   
• Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills 
   
   
• Physical ability: Ability to move around the bus and classrooms
   
• Problem-solving: Ability to solve problems and manage time 
   
• Composure: Ability to remain calm and perform responsibilities during emergencies or accidents 
   
   
• Interpersonal skills: Ability to work cooperatively with others 
   
   
• Special education skills: Ability to relate to special education students and their parents 
   

• Student safety: Monitor student safety, help students board and exit the bus, and ensure students use seatbelts 

• Bus maintenance: Help keep the bus clean and perform other related tasks  

• Student discipline: Assist the driver in maintaining discipline  

• Special needs: Assist students with special needs, such as wheelchairs, braces, or crutches 

• Emergencies: Lead bus evacuations during emergencies and assist the driver in emergencies  

• Policies: Stay up to date on school district policies and be proficient in transportation service procedures
