French Teacher Position - 2025 -2026 School Year

Mount St. Dominic Academy is an independent 9-12 all-girls high school, sponsored by the Sisters of St. Dominic. The school is uniquely situated in western Essex County and draws from The Caldwells, West Essex, Cedar Grove, Verona, Montclair, Glen Ridge as well as Bloomfield, Belleville, Newark and The Oranges. We seek resumes from qualified educators of diverse backgrounds who are interested in a full-time French teaching position for the 2025 - 2026 school year. This position reports directly to the Principal and will be responsible for teaching all levels of high school French. Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree (minimum) with prior French teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching high school French (Grades 9-12).

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

• Preparing motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of the curriculum, adolescent development, and student interests and abilities.
• Employing a variety of teaching methods to engage a diverse set of learners with different backgrounds, experiences, and learning styles.
• Encouraging an inclusive classroom that accepts the diverse perspectives and backgrounds of the students and elicits a greater understanding of the world.
• Analyzing classroom data to develop effective lessons and instructional activities.
• Demonstrating a desire to meaningfully integrate technology into the classroom.
• Assuming other work-related duties as specified (lunch duty, homeroom coverage, attendance at school events, etc.).
• Demonstrating effective classroom management skills.
• Supporting students with identified social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs, as well as students with Individualized Education Programs (IEP) or students from diverse backgrounds.
• Communicating effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
• Attending and participating appropriately in full and departmental/team faculty meetings.
• Job Type: Part-time

Salary:

• $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
