Electrician / Assistant Maintenance (Full Time or Part Time)

Job TItle: Electrician/ Assistant Maintenance Position (Full Time or Part Time)

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must have the ability to work with all maintenance and facilities personnel.
2. Possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
3. Standard Certificate of Educational Facilities Management preferred.
4. Black Seal Boiler License required.
5. Possesses varied skills and background in the fields of carpentry, electrical, mechanics, plumbing and refrigeration.
6. Should be able to read specifications and blueprints.
7. Should be capable of diagnosing mechanical problems.
8. Available for emergency overtime or weekend repairs.
9. Possess basic managerial supervisory skills.
10. Be physically able to lift at least 50 lbs., climb ladders and enter crawl spaces.
11. Able to operate a snow plow, snow blower and shovel when necessary.
12. Must have a valid NJ Electrical License and must maintain that license while employed under this job description.
13. Such alternatives to the above requirements as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
     

JOB GOAL: To provide maintenance, repair, installation or erection of structures, equipment or systems for the entire school system.  To perform, supervise, and assist in custodial and grounds duties required to keep facilities operating.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Repair or replace any part of structures, equipment or systems that require modification or repair.
2. Operate vehicles, equipment or tools to perform maintenance services.
3. Transport equipment and materials including loading and unloading duties.
4. Build or install additions or alterations to structures, equipment, or systems.
5. Supervise work of outside contractors, if necessary.
6. Perform custodial duties when assigned.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
