Location: East Rutherford Board of Education

Job Summary: The East Rutherford Board of Education is seeking a skilled and highly organized individual to serve as a Confidential Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction & Student Services, and the Child Study Team. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the Child Study Team (CST) offices and the special education program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing confidential clerical duties, assisting in coordinating meetings and reports, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with the New Jersey Special Education Code.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform confidential secretarial duties to support the Assistant Superintendent and CST members.
  • Maintain CST student records and oversee meeting coordination, including annual reviews for special education students.
  • Ensure compliance with IEP and 504 Plan timelines.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of reports, including the DRTRS, NJSMART, and the Extra-Ordinary Aide Application.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate services for special education students.
  • Manage all office operations, including ordering supplies and overseeing the SEMI program
  • Serve as a role model of professionalism, ethics, and integrity.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a secretarial or office position, or completion of a recognized program in secretarial studies.
  • Excellent typing skills (50 WPM) with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage confidential information.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle difficult or emotional situations with professionalism.

Terms of Employment:

  • Full-time, 12-month position.
  • Compensation and benefits in accordance with district policies.
