Description Qualifications:
  1. BA/BS in accounting or business preferred, appropriate experience can be substituted for the degree.
  2. Detailed knowledge of computer operations and business software applications. Word, Excel and similar programs. Experience with school district software accounting systems a plus.
  3. Must be accurate, well organized, versatile, and have strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively within the central office, the district, vendors and members of the public.
  4. Minimum of two years successful work experience in a similar position preferably in a school district environment.
  5. Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status.
 
 
Terms of Employment:           Twelve Months – Salary, terms and conditions according to individual contract


Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  1. Prepares correspondence, agendas, reports, evaluations and communications; maintains the files of the business office and all aspects of record retention. Serves as the point of contact for the business office including visitors, phone inquiries and mail/notices.
  2. Assists in the preparation of the agenda for Board meetings and prepares and maintains the official minutes of the Board of Education.
  3. Manages bank deposits from district activities and keeps organized record of transactions
  4. Assists Business Office with mail and electronic file management
  5. Manages the school’s Student Activity/General Organization funds accounting. Maintains records of receipts of activity to appropriate personnel.
  6. Manages the Food Service operation communications with parents, schools, and FSMC and applicable record keeping
  7. Maintains all insurance records and assists in the administration of all of the district’s insurance lines.
  8. Assists with preparation and coordination of bids, and other business functions, including transportation, facility use, all legal advertisements.
  9. Manages the petty cash fund and performs the necessary audit procedures to ensure the integrity of the petty cash fund.
  10. Assists where applicable in the preparation of applications for State and Federal funds.
  11. Assists in the development and implementation of training of personnel for the various business office computer assisted programs.
  12. Enters data into software to produce spreadsheets and reports for the Superintendent/Board of Education and auditor.
  13. Maintains a working knowledge of the business office which shall include budgeting, accounting, purchasing, payroll and other functions, and prepares reports and analysis as required for each of these related functions of the office.
  14. Performs such other related duties or tasks essential to the operation of the business office as may be assigned by the Business Administrator or Superintendent of Schools.
