TITLE: PAYROLL CLERK
 
QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
  1. Experience in a payroll related position required
  2. Minimum of a high school diploma a must with advanced training a plus
  3. Minimum of two years' successful work experience
  4. Such alternatives as the Board/Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
 
REPORTS TO: Business Administrator/designee

 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
The Payroll Clerk shall:
  • Compiles payroll data and enters data or computes and posts wages and reconciles errors.
  • Maintains payroll records such as taxes, union dues, insurance
  • Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll
  • Records changes affecting net wages
  • Records Leave pay and nontaxable wages
  • Serves as the liaison to the districts payroll service.
  • Makes an effort to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, peers, and employer.
  • Participates in professional meetings and attends workshop designed for professional improvement.
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures adopted by the Board of Education, administrative directives. And state and federal regulations which are appropriate for the position.
  • Demonstrates competence in his/her role and skills
  • Shares in responsibilities which contribute to the depth and scope of the total school program.
