Sparta Township public School District operates five school buildings in rural Sussex County serving 3,200 students with a total budget of approximately $80M.
Qualifications:
Possess valid NJ School Business Administrator Certificate
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, Master's Degree and supervisory experience preferred.
Experience in budget preparation and administration, and understanding of statutory and code requirements related to school budgeting
Understanding of the principles and practices of financial accounting and reporting procedures consistent with statute,code and GAAP requirements
Knowledge of statutory requirements and accepted practices in school districts related to insurance,,purchasing, transportation, food services, school facilities operations and facility planning
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Successful experience and knowledge of statutory requirements related to public employment and collective bargaining
Required criminal history background check
