Sparta Township public School District operates five school buildings in rural Sussex County serving 3,200 students with a total budget of approximately $80M.


Qualifications:
  • Possess valid NJ School Business Administrator Certificate
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, Master's Degree and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in budget preparation and administration, and understanding of statutory and code requirements related to school budgeting
  • Understanding of the principles and practices of financial accounting and reporting procedures consistent with statute,code and GAAP requirements
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements and accepted practices in school districts related to insurance,,purchasing, transportation, food services, school facilities operations and facility planning
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Successful experience and knowledge of statutory requirements related to public employment and collective bargaining
  • Required criminal history background check
