Qualifications:
1. High school diploma; secretarial training
2. Knowledge of automated office equipment and excellent secretarial skills
3. Required criminal history review background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Performance Responsibilities:
- Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and assist with inquiries from parents, staff, and visitors.
- Greet and assist visitors, ensuring they adhere to school protocols.
- Perform clerical duties, such as filing, copying, and distributing documents.
- Manage the scheduling of meetings, appointments, and school events.
- Assist with student attendance records, including checking in late students and processing early dismissals.
- Handle and process incoming and outgoing mail.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information, such as student and personnel records.
- Assist in preparing reports, letters, and other school-related documents as needed.
- Provide administrative support to the principal, office staff, and faculty.
- Maintain an organized and efficient office environment in the absence of the regular secretary.
- Assist with school safety procedures by monitoring visitor access and following emergency protocols if necessary.
- Provide coverage for other school secretarial positions when needed.
- Perform all other tasks as required by the Building Principal.
- Perform all other responsibilities and duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools and/or his/her designees.
