MISSION:

The Theater Teacher will plan and deliver meaningful learning experiences, create opportunities for maximum educational and social development, and work with all members of the school community to create a nurturing and structured environment for each student.

 

Do you have what it takes?

  • Education and Experience: 
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
    • A New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) in Drama.

 

THE ROLE:

  • Build a classroom culture in which scholars develop a love of theater.
  • Collaborate with Theater Teachers across the network to build a world-class theater program while investing the community in the vital role of the arts in education.
  • Engage students with a repertoire that is relevant to their lives and interests.
  • Design and execute professional-quality performance opportunities for all scholars.
  • Organize and provide developmentally appropriate educational programs and instruction; plan and implement curriculum and differentiated instruction for middle school students.
  • Provide activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, innovation, problem-solving, and the use of technology appropriate to the developmental levels and learning styles of students.
  • Create a supportive and caring classroom environment in which students can learn and interact positively with one another; through student-centered instruction, collaboration, and authentic assessment.
  • Maintain an open and cooperative relationship with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

  • Salary range: BA $61,912 - $86,912 / MA 62,412 - 87,412
  • Term of Employment: 10.5 Months
  • Union: MPTEA
