Unity Charter School is a NJ School of Character. The school is a top performing K-8 school in the state of NJ, with a National Junior Honor Society, and a National Junior Art Honor Society. Our middle school takes part in academically challenging programs that include, Destination Imagination, iLearn Mathematics competition at Princeton University, and the Junior Solar Spring, STEM competition.
Summary:
The School Psychologist must be able to provide psychological testing for evaluations. They will provide direct support and oversee interventions for students, consult with teachers, families, and other educators to improve educational opportunities for students. The school psychologist will work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies, and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services.
Qualifications:
NJ School Psychologist Certification
Responsible for overseeing case management responsibilities in accordance to state and federal special education requirements
Ability to work in collaborative fashion with fellow child study team staff members
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Expertise in IEP direct Knowledge of NJ Special Education code
Response intervention process, and potential interventions/strategies
Collaborative, organized, self-motivated
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task in high paced environment
Conduct initial and re-evaluation testing and attend IEP meetings
