Interim Director of Special Services/LDTC Pre-K-8

Qualifications:

  • Principal/District Administrator certification required
  • LDTC Certification required
  • Minimum of 3 years successful experience as a Principal, Director, preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years special education experience preferred
  • Preference will be given to candidates with CST experience

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates all special education programs and auxiliary services impacting classified pupils
  • Directs the child study team and special education teachers
  • Ability to adhere to N.J.A.C. 6A:14, Special Education
  • Supports RTI and I&RS
  • Ability to monitor the development of Individualized Education Programs.
  • Ability to develop entitlement and competitive grants
  • Develops and presents to the Superintendent both short and long term plans of the operation of the CST and its programs for students
  • Develops and provides oversight of Special Services budget in regards to special education matters, out of district placements/tuition, child study team services and professional services contracts
  • Develops and provides oversight of IDEA Federal Program and completes related state reports
  • Oversee PreK programming and budgeting
  • Ability to supervise and evaluate instructional Staff Members, CST Members and Related Services Providers
  • Collaborate with Teachers, School Administrators, CST Members and Parents
  • McKinney-Vento/Homeless Liaison
  • Oversees Multilingual Learners and related programming
  • Experience with special education scheduling and programming
