Special Education Teacher
Elementary: Grades K-5

Effective Date:           January 1, 2025

Certifications:           New Jersey Certification as Teacher of Students with
Disabilities and/or Teacher of Handicapped

Terms: Tenure Track 10-month Position

Requirements:

Two (2) years teaching experience preferred

Elementary experience teaching in-class resource and pull-out resource required
Experience teaching in a self-contained setting preferred

Understanding of Special Education programs, modifications, and accommodations

Knowledge/Understanding of Behavioral Intervention Plans and Social Skills training
Experience writing and implementing IEP’s (knowledge of Frontline/IEP Direct preferred)
Knowledge of Reading and Writing workshop
Possess proven interpersonal communication skills and demonstrate strong writing skills

Work cooperatively with subject area teachers

Salary: Commensurate with experience and district pay scale

The Freehold Borough Public Schools is a Pre-K – 8 District in Monmouth County, NJ with a diverse student population of approximately 1,600 students. The district is comprised of two elementary schools and one middle school. Eighth grade school students attend the Freehold Regional High School District.
