Position: Gifted & Talented Teacher - Grades K-8 (tenure track, full-time)
Start date: Immediate Opening
Qualified applicant should possess:
- Teacher of Elementary (K-6)
- Middle School Specialization in Math and/or ELA
- Completion of a Gifted and Talented Education Program/Certificate is strongly preferred
Qualifications:
- Create and implement programming for gifted and talented populations across all grade levels.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of ELA/Math NJSLS standards across grade levels.
- Plan engaging and challenging class activities and lessons that are age-appropriate and meet the individual needs, interests, and ability levels of all pupils.
- Experience with designing and implementing gifted education strategies such as differentiation, problem/project based learning, and self-directed learning
- Works effectively with data and research to develop and assess district strategies that increase student learning.
- Participate in determining student eligibility and program recommendations for gifted learners
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and technology skills.
- Works collaboratively with, and serves as a resource for, other staff and administration to enhance instructional practices.
- Communicates with students, parents, regular classroom teachers and administrators through conferences and other means to discuss student’s progress and ensure student needs are met.
- Assists with basic skills instructional support and/or other areas as assigned by the Superintendent
